Seagull is a large canvas – acrylic, 100 × 170 cm, painted in 2018. I have been drawing birds for many years, and in every piece I try to do justice to the bird's own character: I don't avoid contrast, bold strokes, sharp angles or tight planes. The more I watch seagulls, the more clearly I see that birds, too, have distinct faces and moods – this one has stopped mid-step and turned to look back at you. The original has found its home; this print is reproduced from it.
