I’m neurodivergent, and making art is how I regulate. "One Step at a Time" came from needing something steady to look at when my brain feels loud. The four poured figures in green, orange, pink and yellow are like different parts of me existing at once — not neat, not matching, but still standing together. The rainbow layers underneath are all the small days and sensory bits that build up, and I let the paint drip because I’m done pretending everything has to be contained.

The words are the tools I use daily. "I can, I will" repeated in the corner. "You will always matter" written like a promise. And in the middle: "ONE STEP AT A TIME" with a heart. Neurodivergent minds take in everything all at once, so this piece is permission to do just one thing. To feel one colour. To take one step. It’s not about being productive. It’s about being here, with colour and texture, and moving forward anyway.
