‘Through the fire’ Print

‘Through the fire’ is raw energy on canvas. Sharp black strokes explode upward from the center like scorched branches or tire marks, surrounded by wild flames in red, orange and yellow. Two tiny toy cars — one yellow, one red — sit at the base like they just drove straight through the chaos. The background is left white so the fire and movement hit even harder. It’s messy, urgent, and completely uncontained.

As a neurodivergent artist, this is what overwhelm and burnout look like to me. The black lines are the thoughts that race and tangle. The fire is the sensory overload, the anger, the passion that can feel too big to hold. But the cars are still there. Still moving. Still choosing to go through it instead of stopping. Making this was cathartic — a way to take intensity and turn it into colour, motion, and something I can look at instead of drown in.
