A Thousand Marks Print

‘A Thousand Marks’ has a White background covered in thousands of small, textured marks. Deep burgundy, wine red, and soft blush pink are repeated over and over, each one slightly different. Up close it’s individual strokes. From far away it becomes a field, a pattern, a rhythm. There’s no focal point — the whole surface is the focus.

This is what comfort looks like in a neurodiverse brain. Repetition. Pattern. Doing the same motion again and again until it feels right. Each mark is a stim, a thought, a small action that on its own seems tiny. But together they make something beautiful and grounding. When the world is too loud, this is what helps me regulate: finding a rhythm and staying in it. This painting is permission to repeat, to layer, to find calm in the pattern.
