Ajna – Third Eye Chakra Woman

Ajna is the third eye chakra, traditionally associated with intuition, insight, imagination and our ability to perceive what may lie beyond the immediately visible.

In this original oil painting, the woman gently holds the chakra mandala before her. Her face is turned towards it in quiet contemplation, as though she is listening to an inner voice or recognising something that cannot be understood through logic alone.

The composition is filled with shades of indigo, violet and blue, with touches of warmer colour bringing light and contrast. White sails rise around her, while a small boat waits below, connecting her to the theme running through my Chakra Women series:

Sail away towards your horizon of happiness.


I created this series especially for one of my solo exhibitions in Frigiliana, the beautiful white village in Andalusia, southern Spain. Each woman carries the colours and atmosphere of her particular chakra.

For me, this Ajna woman represents the quiet wisdom that appears when we stop searching outside ourselves for every answer. She invites us to pause, look inwardly and trust what we sense as well as what we know.
