The Weight of Time explores the relationship between the human body and the passage of time. An oversized watch dominates the centre of the composition, transforming time into something physical something carried, confronted and endured.
The female figure’s confident stance introduces a sense of resistance. Rather than appearing consumed by time, she seems to stand against its weight, suggesting resilience in the face of ageing, expectation, urgency and change.
The work reflects on the fact that time cannot be controlled, only experienced, and asks how we choose to carry its weight.
