Fortitude explores resilience through appropriation, repetition and the visual language of Pop Art. Drawing on familiar comic-book imagery and recontextualising the explosive PUFF! motif, the work layers pattern, fragmented figures and bold colour to create a scene of disruption and resistance. By taking an image with an existing artistic history and placing it within a new visual environment, the collage considers how images like people can survive, adapt and acquire new meaning.
