Oil Painting on Canvas 1975 - app. 63 x 42 cm (framed with a floating frame)
Art Style
The painting can be classified as Naive Art with expressionist influences (amateur or hobby painting of the 20th century). It is characterized by simplified forms, bold contours, and a deliberately two-dimensional, decorative visual language.
Description of the Picture
In the foreground, there is a row of six gnarled tree trunks on a green, slightly sloping meadow with a tree stump at the bottom right. The dense, green-spotted foliage frames the scene on the sides and at the top. Through the tree trunks, you can see a wide hilly or mountainous landscape under a blue-and-white cloudy sky. In the green grass at the bottom left, there is a clearly readable, light green signature with the year: "W. Schneider".
The work is set in a simple, modern black frame with a shadow gap.
Image Analysis
Composition: The vertical tree trunks dominate the image and act like a natural fence or rhythm, guiding the eye into the depth.
Perspective: The sense of depth is mainly created through color and aerial perspective (the distant mountains turning bluish), while the trees stand close together in a very flat arrangement.
Color: There is a lively contrast of earthy browns, rich meadow greens, and the bright blue of the sky.
Texture: The bark of the trees and the grass are textured with short, thick brushstrokes (stroke work), giving the surface a lively feel.
Lighting: The light appears diffuse and coming from the front; there are no harsh, realistic shadows of the trees on the ground.
Order
Framed with floating frame as shown, oil on canvas.

About the Artist
Hello dear art friends!
I’m Walter from Germany and a lover of contemporary art. Nowadays, the creative possibilities with digital graphics and image editing programs have become a true enrichment for creative inspiration.
That’s why my motto, "We’ll see each other in another world," has become so vivid.
This applies especially to the surrealist and geometric art styles. Art is a lifelong passion for me, and I enjoy creating creativity in my free time.
Classical paintings with Acryl, Oil, Airbrush, Silk or Pencil are also in my portfolio and posted only in my Gallery linked by "Welcome to Walter's Gallery!"
