Svadhisthana – Sacral Chakra Woman
From my Chakra Women series
This painting is one of seven works I created combining female figures with mandalas, a series I originally called Mandala Women.
Each painting represents one of the seven chakras, traditionally associated with different colours and energy centres in the body.
Svadhisthana represents the sacral chakra, associated with the colour orange. I used warm shades of orange throughout this oil painting, incorporating a mandala into the composition.
The original painting, oil on canvas, has been sold, but quality canvas reproductions are now available as part of my complete Chakra Women collection.
You can read more about my mandalas and Mandala Women in my blog, Are my mandalas and mandala women art?.

About the art and the artist
Welcome to my colourful world.
I’m Renate van Nijen, a Dutch-born artist and published writer living in Southern Spain. Every image in this shop began as an original painting, created by hand in my studio.
Please visit the Shop menu to explore my different collections, from the remarkable women that I painted inspired by my book The HeArt of Paris to flamenco, bulls, Buddhas, angels and inspiration mandalas. Visit the Shop to discover the artwork that speaks to you.
The Print on a wall example is from my original Palingenesis (Selfie) painting inspired by a photo of me in my early twenties.
