Sahasrara – Crown Chakra Woman

Sahasrara is the crown chakra, traditionally associated with spiritual awareness, wisdom, unity and our connection to something greater than ourselves.

In this original oil painting, the woman reclines peacefully beside the water, her face turned upwards and her eyes gently closed. Behind her head, the violet chakra mandala appears almost like a halo, suggesting an expanding awareness and a quiet connection with the world beyond the self.

Boats and white sails surround her more visibly than in any of the other paintings in the series. They seem ready to carry her across the water and towards the distant horizon, bringing the central theme of my Chakra Women collection fully to life:

Sail away towards your horizon of happiness.

I created this series especially for one of my solo exhibitions in Frigiliana, the beautiful white village in Andalusia, southern Spain. Each woman carries the colours and atmosphere of her particular chakra.

For me, this Sahasrara woman represents trust and surrender. She is not struggling to control the journey. She rests beneath her crown mandala, open to inspiration and quietly trusting where the winds and water may carry her next.
