Leo the Lion, because, of course.
Leo was the first big, bold colourful piece I created many moons ago. It is the first piece where I took the charcoal sketch and began layering paint. The subject demanded it. i may sound strange, but Leo was really spurring me on to be bolder, looser, to step into that masculine leonine vitality.
The original is a joy to behold (acrylic on canvas 145 x 190cm - sold), and the subsequent signed, limited edition prints and these brilliant canvas prints lose none of that vigour.
Leo is a wonderful, bright, spirited and vibrant addition to any home at whichever size fits your budget.
This print:
- Acid- and lignin-free and made to last.
- The natural finish enhances vibrancy and depth.
- Textured matte surface that enhances depth without losing clarity.
- Handmade wooden frame from Italy.
Also available as a print on canvas here on Printumo and as a signed limited edition via art@alainvangils.com

About me
First, a heartfelt welcome to my Printumo site.
I have a deep passion for the Animal Kingdom, and want to share the possibility of hanging my bold, expressive and above all colourful, Animal Portraits on your walls.
I have had many requests from people who don't have the space (most of my paintings are very large) or the investment required for either an original painting or signed limited edition print for an alternative option.
In Printumo I have found that option and I'm very pleased to be able to share my passion with a wider audience.
These high quality canvas and paper prints will bring joy, a smile and colour to your personal space, and I thank you for your custom.
