‘Incision’ Print

‘Incision’ is all about texture and interruption. A field of thick white impasto has been combed into soft, overlapping circles and arcs — like fingerprints, tree rings, or the way light ripples on water. It’s calm, repetitive, meditative. Then three sharp green lines cut diagonally across it. They’re bold and unapologetic. They don’t blend in. They break the pattern and demand to be seen.

For me this is what living with a neurodiverse brain feels like. The circles are the routines, the stimming, the loops we run to feel safe and regulated. They’re grounding. They’re home. And then the green lines — that’s the intrusive thought, the sudden shift, the moment you can’t mask anymore. It’s not bad. It’s just different. It cuts through and says "I’m here too." This painting is permission for both: the need for pattern, and the need to break it.
