About the Artist
I am an Australian contemporary abstract expressionist artist and photographer based in Hobart, Tasmania, where I work from my studio under the name Capra7ArtStudio.

My artwork are less concerned with depicting the visible world than with exploring what lies beneath it—the emotional landscapes that exist beyond language.

Rather than beginning with a fixed image or narrative, I enter each work with curiosity, allowing instinct, material, and time to guide the process.

Every painting becomes a conversation between intention and surrender, between what I think I know and what gradually reveals itself.

The studio is a place of listening.

Music is often the first brushstroke.

Before colour reaches the surface, the room is already alive with sound. The spacious compositions of Brian Eno, the radical silences of John Cage, and the intricate rhythmic structures of Nik Bärtsch have become enduring companions throughout my practice.

Their music does not illustrate emotion; it creates space for it. In much the same way, I hope my paintings offer room for reflection rather than instruction, inviting viewers to discover their own meanings instead of searching for mine.
