This piece started as a quick drawing that slowly turned into a portrait. I enjoy working with simple lines and colour, letting the face appear almost by accident. The figure is placed next to a repeating chain-like pattern, which creates a quiet tension between the organic and the structured.
The expression is intentionally ambiguous. She seems present, but also slightly distant — as if caught in a moment of thought.
- Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp resistant.
- Vibrant, long-lasting colors with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.
- Solid wooden frame from renewable sources, 4 cm deep.

About the Artist
Hello, I’m Vica, an artist based in Glasgow. I create mixed-media artworks and prints using materials such as paper, paint, thread and collage.
My work often combines simple figures, patterns and bold colour fields. I’m interested in how marks, lines and repeated shapes can suggest signals, movement and the ways we find our place within different systems and environments.
Each piece begins as an original handmade artwork, and the prints allow these works to travel into new spaces and homes.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work and for supporting independent artists.
