Cosmic Expansion depicts the universe in the act of becoming — spiralling forms erupting from the central bindu, galaxies and matter pulling themselves into existence against a field of textured gold. Rooted in both Hindu cosmological thought and celestial imagery, the work is simultaneously ancient and astrophysical: the same story told by two traditions across thousands of years.
In this hand-enhanced edition, Mukta Sareen has worked directly into the printed canvas with oil and acrylic, tracing and reinforcing the spiralling energy with gestural, expressive brushwork. The gold background is enriched with tonal variation. The expanding forms gain depth and movement that lift the composition off the surface. No two hand enhanced pieces emerge from this process identically.

About the Artist
I am a contemporary artist driven by a lifelong fascination with the spiritual, the symbolic and the ancient. Trained in fine arts, I have spent decades developing a practice rooted equally in deep research and painterly instinct.
My subjects are never chosen lightly. Whether drawing from ancient cosmologies, sacred geometry or spiritual traditions spanning cultures and centuries, I immerse myself in the history and meaning of a subject long before the work takes visual form — tracing its origins, understanding its symbols and finding its modern resonance.
The works that emerge are mixed media on canvas — richly layered, hand-finished in oils and acrylics, built with a surface depth that rewards close looking. Each piece carries the weight of what went into it.
Based in the UK, I work with an international collector base and welcome bespoke commissions for those seeking a work created around a specific intention, space or subject.
