Series Opening Work · Hindu Cosmology
Before form. Before sound. Before the first breath of creation, there is only this.
The Golden Void is where the series begins, and where all meaning returns. A vast, luminous field of gold holds nothing and everything at once. This is the unmanifest — pure consciousness in its most primordial state, undivided and infinite, as described in Hindu cosmological thought.
In this hand-enhanced edition, Mukta Sareen returns to the printed canvas with oil and acrylic to deepen the surface by hand. Additional layers of texture are built up and refined — the gold becomes less uniform, more alive. Subtle tonal shifts and painterly marks breathe presence into what might otherwise appear as stillness. What you receive is not a reproduction of an idea, but a surface that has been touched, considered, and completed.
This is the quietest work in the collection, and perhaps the most demanding. It asks you to sit with it.
Collect the Series
The Golden Void is the first chapter of a five-part series tracing the birth of the universe through Hindu cosmological thought. To collect the complete series is to hold the entire narrative — from primordial silence through to the moment creation takes mythological form. Each work is designed to be experienced individually, but together they tell a story that unfolds across your walls. Contact the studio to enquire about acquiring the full collection

About the Artist
I am a contemporary artist driven by a lifelong fascination with the spiritual, the symbolic and the ancient. Trained in fine arts, I have spent decades developing a practice rooted equally in deep research and painterly instinct.
My subjects are never chosen lightly. Whether drawing from ancient cosmologies, sacred geometry or spiritual traditions spanning cultures and centuries, I immerse myself in the history and meaning of a subject long before the work takes visual form — tracing its origins, understanding its symbols and finding its modern resonance.
The works that emerge are mixed media on canvas — richly layered, hand-finished in oils and acrylics, built with a surface depth that rewards close looking. Each piece carries the weight of what went into it.
Based in the UK, I work with an international collector base and welcome bespoke commissions for those seeking a work created around a specific intention, space or subject.
My paintings are made for spaces and people who value meaning as much as beauty.
