About the Artist
I have two motherlands: one gave me life, while the other—a stepmother of sorts—gave me inspiration. The first is a land of exuberant, radiant, lush, and sensual beauty: my native Galicia. The second—the place from which I write—is a land of scorched earth, fiery reds, and endless shadows: Fuerteventura. On this island, I reconnected with the sea—warmer than the one I knew in childhood—and discovered the solitude of an endless horizon that led me to painting.
I suppose both mothers are present in my work in some way.
I was born in A Coruña in 1982, and after earning my degree in Fine Arts, I left Madrid in 2005.
