Illustrator & Pulp Fanatic!
As an illustrator my real education came from grindhouse posters, pulp magazines, comics, TV & Film. I was raised watching my mother work as an artist, and grew up understanding early on that art doesn't need to hang in a gallery to matter: It can live on a paperback spine, a cereal box, or a ticket stub crushed at the bottom of a coat pocket.
That instinct runs through everything I make, from pulp-inspired art, to comics and museum commissions like tea towels and tablecloths for the Horniman Museum and Gardens, all rendered in a bold, graphic style that riffs on B-movies, exploitation flicks and the throwaway ephemera of pop culture.
It's also exactly what's driven me towards this next chapter: Ephemera Gold. I’ve spent years quietly scribbling, planning and drawing in order to celebrate the unknown and unseen artists responsible for the scraps of ephemera we throw away on a daily basis, the humble, the worn and the overlooked. I have a passion to finally give these everyday artefacts, and the unsung artists behind them, the spotlight they've always deserved through my own work!
