About the Artist

I am Elena Murtazin, a contemporary artist living and working in Germany. Nature is my strongest source of inspiration — not only for its beauty, but for the emotions it creates: the way sunlight catches a petal, the depth of colour inside a blossom, the movement of leaves in a garden, or the sudden abundance of a tree in bloom.
These fleeting moments often become the starting point for my paintings. I am interested not simply in reproducing what I see, but in preserving the feeling of being close to something alive, luminous and beautiful.
My work moves between expressive realism and a more impressionistic, intuitive approach. I work primarily in oils, while also painting on silk, and I am interested in how different materials influence colour, movement and light. In my oil paintings, I build colour in layers and allow visible brushstrokes, texture and light to remain an essential part of the image.
Flowers have become a recurring language in my work. Peonies, rhododendrons, lilacs, tulips and flowering trees allow me to explore very different moods: tenderness and strength, stillness and abundance, intimacy and celebration. I am especially drawn to colour that feels radiant and alive, and to compositions that can bring warmth, depth and openness into an interior.
For me, art is not something separate from everyday life. A painting changes the atmosphere of a room and, little by little, becomes part of the life lived around it. I want my work to offer that kind of presence — something you notice from across the room, but also something that continues to reveal itself when you come closer.
My original paintings are held in private collections, and selected works are also available as fine art prints, canvas and other wall art formats, allowing each piece to find the space where it feels at home.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work.
