I Kept Going

This piece of art is five bands of the same vivid blue dragged down, again and again, with the same tool, on the same day, in the same mood. The textured art is thick, ridged and purposefully cracked in places to provide the effect that I wanted. It's not perfect, it's not blended, it's not trying to be anything other than what it is — evidence of a motion repeated until it became steady.

I called this piece ‘I Kept Going’ because success for Art Without Labels doesn't look like finally picking one style. It looks like this. Not stopping when it would be easier to explain if everything matched. Not quitting when someone says "you need to pick a style." For me, the power is in the repetition. Same blue, same drag, five times. The proof that I stayed.
