About Yontz
Hi, I'm Yontz, a Dutch artist. I'm a painter and printmaker.
My work is about space—in the literal sense, but also in the figurative one. It concerns experiencing the vastness of the world: the landscapes of the North, which at times seem infinite. It explores how small one can feel as a human being within this immense universe, while simultaneously feeling deeply connected to it.
The name Yontz was a misspelling of Jans (the short version of my given name) by my American sister-in-law. I liked it so much, I decided to use it as my artist name.
