ABOUT THE ARTIST

Merrick Porcheddu creates from the belief that the sacred reveals itself through attentive eyes. Every work begins with a story: a passage of Scripture, a moment in her own life, the unguarded wonder of children, or a glimpse of God within creation. Through luminous color, layered textures, and dreamlike compositions, she explores the meeting place between the visible world and the spiritual life beyond it. Ancient narratives take on unexpected forms, inviting viewers to linger, consider, and discover something they may have passed by before.

Her process is an extended practice of discernment and composition. Moving across multiple AI tools and digital editing programs, a single artwork can pass through nearly two hundred iterations before entering further layers of meticulous work in Photoshop. She extracts, softens, reshapes, and composes, layering digital brushstrokes to give each line and detail its presence.
