‘Rhythms of Focus’ mirrors the way neurodivergent minds often process the world: through layered patterns that don’t follow a single, predictable rhythm. The sweeping green arcs suggest momentum and flow, while the striped and splattered marks interrupt that flow with sudden shifts in texture and direction. It feels like focus that moves in waves - periods of sustained attention that arc outward, then break into smaller, staccato moments of detail, repetition, and sensory input. Nothing here is rigid or uniform, yet the different gestures hold together as a cohesive whole, showing how varied ways of thinking can coexist without needing to be smoothed out.
There’s also a quiet interplay between control and release in the brushwork. Some strokes are deliberate and curved, others are dragged, dabbed, or flicked with less restraint. That contrast reflects the lived experience of managing regulation and expression - knowing when to hold a line and when to let the hand move freely to discharge energy. The different shades of green reinforce this, moving from deep, grounding tones to lighter, airier ones. Together, they show that neurodiversity isn’t about disorder; it’s about a different kind of order, one that values variation, texture, and movement as part of how meaning is made.
