‘Overlapping Thoughts’ highlights thick black marks anchor the canvas while translucent ribbons of pink, mint, and pale yellow weave over and under them. Nothing here follows a grid. Lines bend, loop, and double back, sometimes overlapping until they create new shades at the intersections. From a neurodiversity perspective, this is how many minds actually work: nonlinear, associative, and full of parallel processing. The black lines could be external structures or expectations. The pastel paths are the routes a brain takes to get around, through, or beyond them. No single color dominates, and none are erased when they cross.
The transparency matters. You can see where pink sits on top of black, where green ghosts beneath yellow. That layering feels like masking, unmasking, and the moments when both happen at once. For neurodivergent people, thought rarely moves in straight lines. It branches, reconnects, circles back to check a detail, then jumps ahead. This painting refuses to tidy that process. It shows the beauty in cognitive complexity and the logic inside what looks like chaos. The composition only works because every mark is allowed to exist exactly as it is, even when it interrupts another.
