About Madelleine
I believe no one should have to carry life’s hardest experiences alone.
I’m a dream folk musician, songwriter, and abstract artist creating work that makes space for grief, illness, disability, loss, longing, and the quiet, often unspoken parts of being human. Whether I’m writing a song or standing in front of a blank canvas, I’m not searching for perfect answers. I’m listening for what wants to emerge.
My creative process begins with something small—a brushstroke, a colour, or a shape. From there, I follow rather than force. I allow the painting to reveal itself, trusting that it already knows where it wants to go.
I’ve found that creativity asks for the same thing chronic illness has asked of me: a willingness to live with uncertainty. Neither offers a clear map. Both invite me to meet the unknown with curiosity instead of fear, presence instead of resistance.
Again and again, they’ve taught me that beauty doesn’t come from controlling the outcome—it comes from staying open to the journey.

My own life has been shaped by grief, illness, disability, rejection, and profound change. Those experiences have transformed not only what I create, but why I create. I don’t make music or art to escape pain or explain it away. I create because I’ve learned that when we give shape to what feels impossible to express, something remarkable happens: we begin to recognize ourselves in one another.
My paintings don’t aim to tell you what to see. They invite you to slow down, notice, and discover your own experience within them.
Thank you for being here. I hope my art offers you a quiet place to rest, reflect, and remember that whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.
