About the Artist
Danielle Zirkelbach is a professional artist, athlete, surfer, and mother based on the North Shore of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.
Her work is deeply influenced by the ocean, movement, femininity, motherhood, and the natural world. A lifelong athlete and competitive surfer, Danielle creates from a life lived in motion—drawn to the strength of the human body, the freedom of the sea, and the quiet connection between women and nature.
Her artistic career has included large-scale murals, commissioned works, international projects, and artwork connected to the Triple Crown of Surfing. She has also been recognized through induction into the Art Works Hall of Fame.
Motherhood transformed both Danielle's life and her creative voice. After becoming a mother, her work began exploring something deeper: identity, instinct, resilience, generational healing, and the relationship between women and Mother Nature.
That journey also led Danielle to create Imua Moms, a movement dedicated to mothers moving forward in sport, life, and identity. The Hawaiian word imua means to move forward—a philosophy that has become inseparable from both her life and her art.
Danielle's work often brings together the worlds she knows most intimately: ocean, movement, motherhood, strength, vulnerability, and the wildness of being alive.
Whether working on canvas, creating a mural, or developing a commissioned piece, her intention is the same:
to create art that feels alive.
Art that carries movement.
Art that holds a story.
Art that reminds us of our connection to nature—and to ourselves.
