about the artist, weaver…
Weaver has been creative all her life with art and music. She moved to beautiful wee island on the westcoast of Canada with her partner in 2016 and has never felt more at home on the ‘Isle of the Arts’. She worked as a graphic designer and screen-printer with her own studio business in North Vancouver in the early 1990s, ‘Women’s Work Screen Print & Design Studio.’ Her art work became known across Canada through numerous Women’s groups, Trade Unions including the Vancouver Folk Music Festival and the Government of BC (Ministry of Women’s Equality).
Working and playing within sacred space, weaver birthed one-of-a-kind ‘spirit art’ frame-drums as functional art for over 25 years.
She is presently creating original atmospheric watercolours and also likes to work with the mediums of encaustic, pyrography, photography and other mixed media. Walking an earth path since childhood, she is also a musician as folk guitarist, singer-songwriter, drummer + percussionist.
Honoured to be living and working on the unceded Snuneymuxw Territory known as Gabriola, she is thrilled to be a part of such a thriving arts community.
