- Award-winning fine artist Rebecca Winkle (BA Hons) blends personal nostalgia with ecological metaphor in this striking equine portrait. Bathed in the warm, luminous glow of a sand-colored coat, the painting honors a horse from the artist’s past—a partner in the elegant, precise rhythms of dressage. The deep, mutual understanding required for the sport is beautifully compared to the interconnected harmony of the artist's own 24-year-old forest garden. Imbued with dramatic color, the rich golden tones mirror sunset dunes and ripening summer reeds, while channeling the enduring spirit of burnished beech leaves clinging to the autumn boughs. This gallery print is a soulful exploration of trust, memory, and the enduring connections that ground us.
- Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp resistant.
- Vibrant, long-lasting colors with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.
- Solid wooden frame from renewable sources, 4 cm deep.

About the Artist
Rebecca Winkle is an award‑winning animal portrait artist with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a lifelong devotion to drawing that began at age five. Her work is rooted in the ancient landscapes of Caithness, where she has lived for 24 years, raising five children and sharing life with horses, cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, ponies — and the ever‑present cats who wander through her studio.
Her portraits are shaped by the sweeping northern skies, the quiet strength of trees, the softness of roses, and the wildlife that gathers around the Loch of Mey beside the family’s forest garden. Rebecca’s art is lifelike, dramatic, colourful and full of energy, capturing not only the animals she knows so well but the spirit of the land that surrounds her.
Each piece carries a spark of home — the croft, the creatures, the landscape, and the love that has shaped her life and her art.
