Beauty Supplements | Fine Art Print by Agnė Kišonaitė

One of my own photos inspired Beauty Supplements: in it I wear a pin-up style dress and hairdo, a style very close to me. One day I spontaneously drew a sparse line sketch, dropping the realistic details and keeping the main accents. I liked it, so I moved it onto a 70 × 100 cm canvas and, enlarging the portrait, added a few elements – the eyelash curler was the closest symbol to my idea of beauty supplements. The portrait was adjusted so that it doesn't resemble any particular person: the point is not to copy reality but to convey emotion with as few elements as possible. Large areas of turquoise and warm white, lines in dark green and green-grey, accents in muted red, blue and coral. The painting gave its name to my third solo exhibition and became its poster.
