Svadhisthana is the sacral chakra, traditionally associated with creativity, emotion, pleasure, sensuality and our ability to move with the natural flow of life.
In this original oil painting, the woman sits peacefully with her hands together and the glowing orange chakra mandala resting at the centre of her body.
Warm shades of orange, gold and soft red surround her, while touches of blue suggest water, another element traditionally connected with the sacral chakra.
The two pale forms behind her may be seen as angel wings or the sails of a boat. They reflect the theme running through my Chakra Women series:
Sail away towards your horizon of happiness.
I created this series especially for one of my solo exhibitions in Frigiliana, the beautiful white village in Andalusia, southern Spain. Each woman embodies the colours and atmosphere of her particular chakra.
I feel that this Svadhisthana woman carries a gentle but joyful creative energy. She invites us to remain open to pleasure, inspiration and movement, while trusting the direction in which life is flowing.
This print is taken from my original oil painting and can be displayed individually or combined with other works from the Chakra Women collection.
