My name is Rahmat Haverkamp. I am a Dutch, self-employed abstract artist and I have been living and working in lush, rural Wales (UK) since 2001.

After leaving a nearly 20-year career in cardiology to look after my own heart, I chose to finally dedicate myself full-time to a lifelong creative calling. I entered university as a mature student, had an absolute blast, and after graduating I stepped out as a self-employed artist.

While my creative adventures have been diverse, over time my practice has homed in on painting. I find tremendous joy in losing myself while creating vibrant abstract art in my studio. Using colour in my work is an emotional gateway into a deeper, spacious part of myself.
The conscious ego steps back and the painting begins to direct itself. It is a dynamic dance - moving between fluid mark making, applying deliberate structural balance and careful editing.

For decades I have been immersing myself in mindfulness, meditation and the precise truth of Non-duality, and found that words eventually failed where colour and form could speak. I don’t paint specific places or things; I paint the space in-between thoughts and the unspoken peace that is hidden in plain sight before our busy lives happen. These abstract pieces are an invitation to pause, breathe, and bring space into your environment.

I work primarily with acrylics on wood panels and textured papers as I’ve found that these substrates work best for my techniques.

Because colours, textures, and depth are so vital to my process, I am meticulous about how my original paintings translate into fine art reproductions. To ensure you get a feel of that same tactile warmth and richness on your own walls, I have have chosen to exclusively offer premium abstract canvas prints over paper prints.

These gallery-quality, ready-to-hang pieces are carefully curated for art lovers, home stagers, and interior designers looking for statement wall art that brings a sense of grounding stillness and modern sophistication into residential, hospitality, or corporate spaces.

When a finished piece finds a new home, it completes a beautiful circle, moving from my personal journey into yours.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my collection and find a visual anchor that truly resonates with you and your space. I would be delighted.

With gratitude,

Rahmat
