About the Artist

Iirumva Isaac is a contemporary visual artist based in Kigali, Rwanda. His work explores human connection, memory, and daily life through bold characters, vibrant color, and emotional storytelling. Recently, his practice has begun shifting toward plant-like painting, using organic forms, natural palettes, and botanical references as symbols of mental states, inner healing, and resilience.
Rooted in both personal experience and the collective memory of his community, Isaac’s work creates space for reflection, vulnerability, and joy. He describes his approach as “giving life to thoughts,” and his paintings often feel like conversations between inner worlds and shared realities. Drawing inspiration from local environments, his evolving practice questions how natural forms can mirror the emotional and psychological landscapes we carry within us.
