Before The Horizon

This new piece is pure colour in transition. It starts with a dense, fiery red at the top that softens into vivid orange and then opens into a bright, luminous yellow at the bottom. It's unfinished by design — no horizon, no figure, just the texture of the canvas showing through and the soft, blended drag of acrylic where one tone meets the next. It holds warmth and energy on its own, even before a subject arrives.

It is a companion to neurodiversity where the neurodiverse work was about capturing a fleeting moment through the lens, this painting is about rebuilding that same feeling by hand. The palette links them — that intense, sun-soaked orange and yellow — but the process is different. One was found and framed, this one is being built stroke by stroke, from memory and emotion into something tangible.
