CHAOS BLOOMS BENEATH is a deeply emotional, heavily textured collage made on a 12-inch album sleeve. I created this piece during the hardest days of grieving my mum, right in the middle of intense heartache and physical headaches. It came from that raw space of trying to find my feet when everything felt completely broken.
As part of my collection exploring grief and healing through art, this piece stands out because of its subtle pastel colours set against thick, heavy layers. Fragmented pieces of my own past artwork are torn up and woven together with sentimental vintage papers from my mum's personal collection. Like many pieces in this series, it features a hand-placed diamanté teardrop, adding a glint of light that draws the raw emotion directly out of the artwork.
Every layer holds emotional weight and resilience, inviting you to look a little closer. I have now decided to give these deeply personal works a new home where their stories can live on.
