This vibrant portrait is a centerpiece of the ‘Happiness’ Collection—a dedicated series of animal and dog pictures celebrating the pure, unadulterated joy our four-legged companions bring into the world. Caught in a moment of absolute contentment, the dog radiates the kind of unconditional, infectious bliss that can completely shift the energy of a room. As an award-winning fine artist (BA Hons) living on a tranquil Caithness croft for 24 years, I have always observed how dogs serve as emotional anchors. In the wild, unpredictable climate of the Far North, their simple, joyful presence reminds us to stay present. Imbued with rich, dramatic colour, this piece captures the exact essence of the collection: a visual reminder that true happiness is often found in the simplest, most loyal packages

About the Artist
Rebecca Winkle is an award‑winning animal portrait artist with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a lifelong devotion to drawing that began at age five. Her work is rooted in the ancient landscapes of Caithness, where she has lived for 24 years, raising five children and sharing life with horses, cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, ponies — and the ever‑present cats who wander through her studio.
Her portraits are shaped by the sweeping northern skies, the quiet strength of trees, the softness of roses, and the wildlife that gathers around the Loch of Mey beside the family’s forest garden. Rebecca’s art is lifelike, dramatic, colourful and full of energy, capturing not only the animals she knows so well but the spirit of the land that surrounds her.
Each piece carries a spark of home — the croft, the creatures, the landscape, and the love that has shaped her life and her art.
