- This piece represents a rare and deeply personal addition to the collection, created by my husband, Graham Winkle. While Graham is most often found writing children’s books, philosophising, composing music, or designing land art and gardens, this painting looks back to the very foundation of our story. It captures a beautiful, sun-drenched afternoon in Darley Park—a historic landscape where we spent some of our earliest walks together before we were married. The canvas is alive with a lush, tree-covered canopy that opens up to rolling grassy parklands, all set beneath brilliant blue skies filled with soft, fluffy clouds. Curated alongside my own fine art, this painting stands as a bright, nostalgic window into a cherished chapter of our lives, long before our 24 years on the Caithness croft began.
- Acid- and lignin-free and made to last.
- The natural finish enhances vibrancy and depth.
- Textured matte surface that enhances depth without losing clarity.
- Handmade wooden frame from Italy.

About the Artist
Rebecca Winkle is an award‑winning animal portrait artist with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a lifelong devotion to drawing that began at age five. Her work is rooted in the ancient landscapes of Caithness, where she has lived for 24 years, raising five children and sharing life with horses, cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, ponies — and the ever‑present cats who wander through her studio.
Her portraits are shaped by the sweeping northern skies, the quiet strength of trees, the softness of roses, and the wildlife that gathers around the Loch of Mey beside the family’s forest garden. Rebecca’s art is lifelike, dramatic, colourful and full of energy, capturing not only the animals she knows so well but the spirit of the land that surrounds her.
Each piece carries a spark of home — the croft, the creatures, the landscape, and the love that has shaped her life and her art.
