Press 1 for PANIC is a sharp response to greed, megalomania and narcissism – and to a world where seriousness and absurdity exist side by side.
Fragments of text torn from newspapers and books convey the gravity of it all. Against this backdrop, the drawn faces and the telephone emerge unexpectedly (even to me!) – as insistent countervoices.
Bold colours and naïve, almost cartoon-like forms break with the seriousness, opening up space for humour and absurdity. Not to trivialise, but to resist – and to make existence slightly more bearable.

About the Artist
I am a Norwegian visual artist based in Oslo, working with painting, photography, collage, and mixed media.
I am drawn to stories – to people who carry them, places that hold them, and the traces they leave behind. The smooth and flawless hold little interest for me. I look for what bears the marks of life.
Working intuitively and in layers, I build up and break down, add and scrape away, allowing earlier traces to become part of what follows. My work moves between the recognisable and the abstract, exploring memory, place, and lived experience while leaving space for the viewer to find stories of their own.
