Painting on Silk 1991 - Painting app. 18 x 24 cm (framed app. 35 x 42 x 3,5 cm, with passepartout)

Art Style
The silk painting is done in the style of lyrical realism with clear hints of Romanticism. The fine, contrasting detail of the tree silhouette against a moody sky also recalls traditional East Asian ink paintings (Japonism).

Description
The work, shown in an oval frame, depicts a melancholic landscape at dusk with a large, bare tree in the left center of the image. Its delicate, dark branches stand out sharply against a softly glowing yellow-purple evening sky. In the background, a wooded hill range stretches out, while in the wintry foreground a wooden fence flanks the view. At the bottom left of the tree trunk, the piece is hand-signed with the monogram and year 'W.S. '91'.

Image Analysis
Composition: Centered, but slightly shifted to the left, with the powerful vertical of the tree balanced by the diagonal line of the fence in the foreground.
Color and Light: A strong light-dark contrast (silhouette effect) dominates the scene, with the golden backlight of the evening sun dramatically highlighting the dark tree silhouette.
Texture: The smooth silk allows for delicate, cloud-like color gradients in the sky, contrasting with the precise, almost graphic lines of the branches.
Perspective: By playing with sharpness in the foreground and the hazy, fading line of hills in the background, a noticeable, atmospheric sense of depth (aerial perspective) is created.

Malerei auf Seide 1991 - Seidenmalerei ca. 18 x 24 cm (gerahmt ca. 35 x 42 x 3,5 cm, mit Passepartout)

Kunststil

I’m Walter from Germany and a lover of contemporary art. Nowadays, the creative possibilities with digital graphics and image editing programs have become a true enrichment for creative inspiration.
That’s why my motto, "We’ll see each other in another world," has become so vivid.
This applies especially to the surrealist and geometric art styles. Art is a lifelong passion for me, and I enjoy creating creativity in my free time.
Classical paintings with Acryl, Oil, Airbrush, Silk or Pencil are also in my portfolio and posted only in my Gallery linked by "Welcome to Walter's Gallery!"
