Painting on Silk 1991 (special wood frame form, passepartout, painting app. 60 x 89 cm, frame app. 78x100cm)

Art Style:
Art Nouveau. The work uses the classic flowing lines, organic symmetry, and floral motifs that were characteristic of this era around 1900.

Description of the Picture:
The silk painting shows an idyllic hilly landscape with a bare tree in the soft evening light, set within a symmetrical floral framework. Elegantly curved, blue-green vines and tulip-like blossoms surround the natural scene, while delicate flowering tendrils add accents at the bottom. In the left curved band, there is the fine artist's signature "W. Schneider" with the year '91. The piece is stretched and framed in a striking stepped wooden frame in gold and black, in an Art Deco or Art Nouveau style design.

Image analysis: The technique of silk painting really stands out here through the soft, flowing color transitions of the sky and the hills. The precise symmetry of the framing ornaments draws the eye straight to the asymmetrical, somewhat melancholic landscape motif. Typical for Art Nouveau is the wavy line work, which gives the fine silk texture a lively dynamic. The geometrically tiered frame creates an appealing architectural contrast to the soft, organic shapes of the painting.

Gemälde auf Seide 1991 (speziell geformter Holzrahmen, Passepartout, Bild ca. 60 x 89 cm, Rahmen ca. 78x100cm)

Kunststil:
Jugendstil (Art Nouveau).
