Finished up a brand new piece titled A French Spa Day! đŸâš
âLooking back at my first version, Lazy Summer Days, the evolution is pretty wild. The original had that charming, looser, "mature child" feel painted on a circular canvas with a flat blue swirl for water and simpler pups tucked back in the tub.
âFor this new rectangular sketchpad version, I really focused on dialing in the perspective and structural proportions of the hexagonal wooden spa box. I layered vibrant, jewel-toned circles underneath a soft translucent blue wash to give the water real depth, and updated the pups with much more defined, expressive chibi faces and paws gripping the edge.
âNothing beats the feeling of seeing how far your art can grow.
