SOUL JOURNEY is a layered mixed-media collage created on a 12-inch vinyl record sleeve. Centred around an image of a woman from a Christian Dior campaign, the piece captures the steady, evolving process of navigating grief. A less edgy, more subtle aesthetic while easily holding its own as a standalone statement piece.
As part of my collection exploring grief and healing through art, the piece features fragmented parts of my own past artwork torn and layered underneath the central figure, mixed with selected paper cuttings, tape, and soft touches of spray paint. A single, hand-placed diamante teardrop sits on the portrait, catching the light to gently draw the quiet emotion directly out of the artwork.
SOUL JOURNEY marks a pivotal moment of reflection in the series, where raw feelings settle into a quiet, beautiful strength. I have now decided to give these deeply personal works a new home where their stories can live on.
