This artwork is part of the “From Age Five” Collection, a collection celebrating my daughter’s early creativity, imagination, and artistic journey.
She created the original drawing in 2023, when she was just five years old. She was inspired by a photograph of an African woman and looked at it with curiosity and excitement. She said, “Mom, I can draw the same,” and created her own interpretation in her unique childhood style.
The original drawing was entirely created by her at the age of five. I later added color and digitally developed the artwork while preserving her original lines, expression, and artistic character.
African Woman No. 1 is the first piece in her African Women series from that special period of her childhood.
This artwork is a celebration of inspiration, imagination, and the fearless creativity of a child — capturing a moment when she saw something beautiful and simply believed she could create it too.
