Charity angel

Charity is part of a series of angel paintings that I created for a solo exhibition in Nerja (province of Malaga) in southern Spain. I felt attracted to paint some light-hearted, positive, happy-making paintings. This is an acrylic painting, but I also incorporated some glitter into the artwork which becomes noticeable when the lights fall on the artwork from a certain angle.  The camera does pick up on the glitter. Colour of the actual painting is slightly darker, but still has a very vibrant feel to it. The glitter creates a mysterious and happy feel. On the canvas print the glitter effect is more an illusion, it will not reflect when light falls on it, but it does give the illusion of golden rain drops. The original painting is 50x70 cm. The print only available as a 40 x 55 cm canvas print. 
I usually mix my paints directly on the canvas and I never look for perfection. I search for  the perfection within the imperfection. I really enjoyed the mystique of painting Angels, which made me decide to create 33 smaller paintings, for an Angel oracle card deck, these are quirky images of Angels with a special message.
