Draupadi stands at the centre of the composition with a quiet, unyielding presence. In her hand is a flame, contained yet persistent, suggesting a strength that is neither declared nor diminished.
The five Pandavas appear through symbols rather than form: bow and arrow, mace, horse, celestial wheel, and crown. Krishna is indicated only by a peacock feather, minimal and unobtrusive.
The dice sit near Draupadi’s head as a fixed reference to the moment of wager that altered the course of her life and the events that followed. Earthy cubist structure and restrained abstraction hold the composition in tension rather than narrative clarity.
The work holds its focus on dignity, consequence, and endurance within an ancient historical continuum.

About the Artist

Whether drawing from ancient cosmologies, sacred geometry or spiritual traditions spanning cultures and centuries, I immerse myself in the history and meaning of a subject long before the work takes visual form — tracing its origins, understanding its symbols and finding its modern resonance.
The works that emerge are mixed media on canvas — richly layered, hand-finished in oils and acrylics, built with a surface depth that rewards close looking. Each piece carries the weight of what went into it.
Based in the UK, I work with an international collector base and welcome bespoke commissions for those seeking a work created around a specific intention, space or subject.
