IIn the beginning, there was the mother.
Adi Mata — the first, the eternal — stands beside her calf within a sacred field of blooming lotuses, illuminated by a luminous gold ground inspired by the devotional Pichwai tradition of Nathdwara. The composition reflects themes of nurture, protection, and divine abundance, interpreted through a contemporary visual language.
Created through a layered digital art process composition with extensive artistic refinement, texture work, and digital impasto detailing, the work balances sacred symbolism with painterly atmosphere. Soft ivory tones, textured gold, and delicate lotus pinks create a surface that feels luminous, contemplative, and richly dimensional.
Ancient iconography meets contemporary interpretation — preserving the spirit of devotional Indian art while reimagining it for modern interiors and collectors.
- Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp-resistant.
- Vibrant, long-lasting colours with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.

About the Artist
I am a contemporary artist driven by a lifelong fascination with the spiritual, the symbolic and the ancient. Trained in fine arts, I have spent decades developing a practice rooted equally in deep research and painterly instinct.
My subjects are never chosen lightly. Whether drawing from ancient cosmologies, sacred geometry or spiritual traditions spanning cultures and centuries, I immerse myself in the history and meaning of a subject long before the work takes visual form — tracing its origins, understanding its symbols and finding its modern resonance.
The works that emerge are mixed media on canvas — richly layered, hand-finished in oils and acrylics, built with a surface depth that rewards close looking. Each piece carries the weight of what went into it.
Based in the UK, I work with an international collector base and welcome bespoke commissions for those seeking a work created around a specific intention, space or subject.
My paintings are made for spaces and people who value meaning as much as beauty.
