Gallery Collection 102 ‘Voice Matters’ hits like a manifesto. A bright blue field becomes layered with affirmations and brushstrokes: ‘Love,,’ ‘Be Kind’, ‘Faith over fear’, ‘Never give up. At the center, Scrabble tiles spell out a direct message: "DO NOT HIDE AWAY," "YOUR VOICE MATTERS," "NEURO DIVERSE," "MASKING," "HAVE NO SHAME." The split black and white mask with neon hair makes the subtext literal. For many neurodivergent people, masking is daily work, swapping between a perceived "acceptable" face and the self beneath. The canvas refuses to stay quiet about it.
The visual chaos is intentional. Overlaid words, drips, textures, and repeated "LOVE" stamps mirror the internal noise of navigating a world not built for your neurology. Yet the crossword structure of the tiles creates order from that noise, turning lived experience into language. This is neurodiversity reclaimed as identity, not diagnosis. The work demands space, unmasks the cost of hiding, and replaces shame with self-advocacy. It says what the tiles spell out: your voice matters, and it doesn’t have to be hidden to be loved.
