'River on Fire' is the third and final piece in The Alchemist’s Stream, a series exploring movement, transformation and the ever-changing relationship between water, earth and light.
Here, the stream seems to catch fire. Vivid orange and amber sweep through layers of deep green, blues and earthy yellows, creating a striking contrast between warmth and coolness. The heavily textured surface gives the artwork a sense of age and depth, as though something has been weathered, transformed and revealed over time.
There is energy in 'River on Fire', but also balance. Against a quiet neutral wall, its warmer tones become the focal point while the cooler greens and blue-greys stop the colour from becoming overpowering.
It works particularly well with natural wood, warm neutrals and understated furnishings, making it a versatile choice for bedrooms, living spaces, studies and boutique hospitality interiors.
A piece with warmth, character and a little mystery - designed to reward a second look.
River on Fire is the third and final artwork in The Alchemist’s Stream series.
Styling Tips
Colour: Pick out the artwork’s orange, amber, ochre, olive, deep green and blue-grey tones with cushions, throws or smaller decorative pieces.
Materials: Natural wood is an especially good partner, as shown here. Linen, stone, brushed metal and other tactile materials also work beautifully.
Keep the room calm: Because the artwork has plenty of visual energy, pairing it with simple furnishings and softer neutral walls lets it take centre stage.
For a warmer interior: Bring in rust, burnt orange, cognac or amber accents.
For a cooler look: Use sage, olive, blue-grey and muted green around the artwork to emphasise its quieter side.
- Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp resistant.
- Vibrant, long-lasting colors with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.
- Solid wooden frame from renewable sources, 4 cm deep.
