Painting on Silk 1991 - Painting app. 24 x 18 cm (framed app. 48 x 42 x 6 cm, with passepartout)

Art style
The silk painting is done in a modern, lyrical landscape realism with noticeable influences of Japonism. The fine, ink-like lines of the grasses and the bare tree strongly evoke traditional East Asian landscape painting.

Image description
The painting shows a calm, expansive dune landscape transitioning from autumn to winter. A striking, leafless tree with delicate branches dominates the right half of the image, while clusters of fine dune grass and cattails populate the gentle hills. The sky glows in soft, pastel evening or morning light. The work is signed by the artist at the bottom center, W. Schneider 91.

Image analysis: Composition
Asymmetrical layout, with the tree placed on the right acting as a vertical anchor, and the curved dune lines guiding the eye from left to right. Color and light: A mood-rich color palette of soft yellow, pink, and green tones creates a diffuse, warm backlight, from which the dark vegetation stands out graphically. Texture: The flowing texture of the silk provides velvety, cloud-like transitions of color in the sand and sky, contrasted by the sharp lines of the plant silhouettes. Perspective: A gentle layering of foreground, middle ground, and background creates a natural, expansive sense of depth, supported by the fading of the dunes in the background.

Malerei auf Seide 1991 - Gemälde ca. 24 x 18 cm (gerahmt ca. 48 x 42 x 6 cm, mit Passepartout)

Kunststil
