About the Artist
Chester is an Illustrator from Buckinghamshire. He graduated from the
University of Northampton.
His first job was within the Greeting Card market, designing everyday and
Christmas cards, plus giftwrap design. He started as a junior designer
and progressed over the years to a Design Manager. After a number of
years an exciting opportunity arose and he decided to become a freelance
Illustrator, which gave him more focus and freedom to start sketching and
putting together design ideas within the Book Industry, which is what he loves.
Initially Chester was commissioned to design a pack of 10 children’s
Story books, each book had an individual character to follow. These fun
and colourful images were an exciting start into the world of book illustration.
Chester was then asked to create children’s Educational Puzzle Books that
required a number of cheeky little characters and animals.
Chester has been a freelance Artist / Illustrator now for over 20 years and
has illustrated numerous books. One of his biggest challenges was to source
the content, finding photographic research and then illustrating each page of
“Religion Around The World” a book that covered every religion / non religion,
throughout the world, this included over 200 full colour artworks.
Currently he works mainly in digital media, although he still sketches initial
ideas, before taking them to the computer. In his work colour always
takes centre stage, followed by the addition of interest achieved through
