“The Heartbreak” is a mixed-media artwork with a watercolor foundation, inspired by the expressive language of Cubism and naïve art. The painting explores emotional pain through simplified forms, fragmented perspectives, and symbolic imagery.

At the center of the composition is a teared heart, becoming the emotional focal point of the work. The heart represents vulnerability, loss, and the experience of emotional rupture. Surrounding it, the repeated eyes suggest observation, memory, and the feeling of being seen—or perhaps watching oneself through the experience of heartbreak. Their presence creates an almost dreamlike atmosphere, as though emotions are looking back at the viewer.

The Cubist influence can be seen in the fragmented shapes, shifting perspectives, and simplified geometric forms, while the naïve-art influence brings a more spontaneous, direct, and emotionally honest quality. The watercolor base allows the colors and forms to flow and overlap, giving the piece a sense of movement and emotional instability.

Overall, The Heartbreak is less a literal depiction of sadness than an emotional landscape—a visual expression of the vulnerability, tears, memories, and fractured feelings that can accompany a broken heart.
